#Churpremiere – Chappie

   Category: Churpremiere | 49 Comments

“Humanity’s Last Hope Isn’t Human”

Every child comes into the world full of promise, and none more so than Chappie: he is gifted, special, a prodigy. Like any child, he will come under the influence of his surroundings – some good, some bad – and he will have to rely on his heart and soul to find his way in the world and become his own man. But there’s one thing that makes Chappie different – he is a robot.

Churpers, join us at the upcoming #Churpremiere of Chappie to follow one robot’s journey of self-discovery as he thinks and feels for himself, and finds his place in this world.

In the near future, crime is patrolled by an oppressive mechanized police force.

Hugh Jackman stars as Vincent in Columbia Pictures' action-adventure CHAPPIE.

When one police droid, Chappie, is stolen and given new programming, he becomes the first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself.

The first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. That’s a dangerous idea – and it’s a challenge that will pit Chappie against powerful, destructive forces that would ensure that he is the last of his kind.

1251623 - Chappie

Do you have to be human to be humane? We think and we feel and that makes us who we are – human. Check out the trailer below, Churpers!

  • Fareez says:

yes! because why not? a tireless humanoid with feelings that could be my best buddy ever!!

  • If you had the power to decide, would you allow humanoid robots to live in our world? Why or why not?

Nope because robot should not take over our lives no matter how hard it gets for us. If we survive all this while without their help, I’m sure we can take care of ourselves.

  • Adam says:

Yes, because as people are getting more stupid and violent, it is best to have robots to control the chaos and maintain the peace of the world. But with one condition: the robots are not made by those stupid and violent people!

  • If I had the power to decide, I would allow humanoid robots to live in our world because they can be our protector. people are so cruel nowadays, and we cannot be there 24/7 for our family. at least we have them. if they die, we can just build them again. worried about war between man and robot? i don’t hate robots. we’re the one who created the hatred, racism and whatnot. not them.

  • Sarah says:

    1. Of course no doubt ! I would be great to have them in the world so I can have them to be my body guard and perhaps train them to also clean my room, do my homework, house chores and anything that I hate doing ! 😀

  • Alez Tang says:

No!, because its the beginning of Skynet!

  • Carrie Yap says:

If you had the power to decide, would you allow humanoid robots to live in our world? Why or why not?

No because humans are getting lazier and lazier. So if we allow humanoid robots to live in our world, humans will depend totally on them. And end up, we will become useless and trust me, the future generation won’t even know how to walk. Because robots will help them do everything. (Too much influence from Wall-E) 😛

  • Yong Sin Yee says:

Yes, but for certain features only such as they can be companion for people who doesn’t have partners; especially elderly. Understand that the younger should take care of them. But sometimes you can’t 24 hours by their side. So, the humanoid robot can help to take care of them when necessary.

  • Nasrul Fareed Bin Nordin says:

If you had the power to decide, would you allow humanoid robots to live in our world? Why or why not?
Yes, because robots makes human lives easier and can do more hazardous jobs compared to human like become a policeman, army that always deal with danger such as war, crime busting that sometimes leads to firearm fight that can cost people life so by giving humanoid robots to live in our world, police officer and army should not be worry about risking their lives everyday because the robots will do the the dangerous job for them so less fatality and more crime reduced!

  • Jivanethika says:

“If you had the power to decide, would you allow humanoid robots to live in our world? Why or why not?”

It’s my believe that once we created something includes a baby or a robot, they deserves to live their life. Therefore, I would allow humanoid robots to live in our world. Okay, why would I ?

First of all, there’s no problem if we still got access and can control them, so if the robots got too emotional, atleast we still can manage to change the disruption within them.
Secondly, they are already been called and known as humanoid robots, which shows that they got the ability to feel all kind of emotion, just like human beings as love, hate, sad, happy and so on. This shows that even robots can act more humanely than human itself. Humans are afraid of losing their life, while robots are ready enough to sacrifice their own life for the sake of other’s living.
Lastly, since our world moving towards advanced technology period too fast, we could not stop from making creation of technology. Human’s life is limited, which they could not stay forever and emphasize all the information to the next generation. While robots can live longer than humans, which enables them to get hold of important information and passed it down to others even after 200 years.

  • BH Chew says:

Yes,I would definitely allow them to live in this world. The humanoid robots can’t be corrupted easily like human. They can be programmed to uphold law and justice when human fail. They won’t complain or protest if the task is given to them. Therefore I strongly support them no matter what.

  • Off course I will allow The Humanoid robots to live in our world because it’s free to keep them n they will follow your orders without questions asked, trustworthy and do any work asked without grumbling.

  • Jeff Soo says:

Definitely allowing The Humanoid robots to live in our world, so that when the robots can take over our daily task like maintaining the city, producing food and so on, only then we as human can really focus on settling the real issue among human being and look for real ways to save planet earth from every aspect.

  • Shiok Leng says:

I would because they will help ease humans by helping out with things that we can’t do. Also, they can teach us some robot dance move. Hahaha! Lets just hope no one ever falls in love with them… AND hopefully they won’t take over the world… =S Haha!

  • Jimmy Teh says:

If you had the power to decide, would you allow humanoid robots to live in our world? Why or why not?

I will ever ever ever forever and never ever will say a super duper gigantic NO. Because robot is design by human so when it is create for human thing can be misused for something bad or for their selfish reason. Some people will do it so that they can take over the world or with a switch or click a button it can be a killer machine.

It will make our life a lot easier and safer but this sometimes get out of hand it is better to not to have it at all. When there is nothing, than they can’t do anything about it. This is the 21st century anything can happen so it is better to be safe than sorry. If you has watch Big Hero 6 with a change of the CHIP it can be a deadly robot. But no matter what our life will be cover with robot but if the robot/machine have a secure and confirm switch or function than maybe it is possible. But for now i am not seeing it, human will be human.

  • I would allow humanoid robots to live in our world because they are creation of human and able to help human in every way that human unable to perform or do.

  • naqhi nasir says:

If it was up to me I’d let all types of robots live among us provided that we always have an override system in place. Robots can assists us in every aspect of our lives. Just look at how some people can’t live without their smartphones. Robots could end up the same way especially for dangerous situations and for situations where we don’t have any other options like in space exploration. But just like with smartphones we have to understand that we can’t always rely on them. The reason why us humans are where we are today is because we worked hard at it, at adapting, innovating and inventing.

  • Tan Yune Lynn says:

If I had the power to decide, I would allow humanoid robots to live in our world because robots do not have feelings and they will not take on anyones side. Humans nowaadays are too corrupted in their minds and that’s why mistakes happens and there’s no peace in the world. With robots around, I’m sure there’ll be peace and there’s a chance for world peace. Even if there is war, robots can protect us.

  • If I had the power to decide, I would allow humanoid robots to live in our world. They are partly human and all living things deserve the right to live. If you do not want them, might as well do not create them in the first place. We could correct all the mistakes/ flaws that we humans do and mould the robots as prefect as we want them to. Thus, will result in less crimes and misery.

  • Tay Cheng Young says:

We would be pro-robots because they’d be very useful to Michael Bay in his epic movie Transformers and they can play a very big part in the movie which would make the robots in the movie look so surreal and I can already imagine how awesome it would be!

  • Nur sakinah says:

If you ask me such question, transparently i will say that a good idea! Why not human and robot live in a same world?help and ease each others life.

Robot is a plain and straight forward creature which will follow what ever instruction given. But human is complex one. Human have exspression, feeling, and many more and afraid it will lead to bad robot creation thus making destruction in our world.

  • Mohd Azizan Hariz Bin Mohammad Hisyam says:

Yes. Because human errors are inevitable. With the existence of the robots, those errors can be minimized and evidently we can live in a better and a prosperous world. Humanoid robots FTW!

  • Kelvin Lim says:

No. Because humans are already getting lazy as technology advances. In the end, all tasks will be taken over by robots, so what are humans going to do anyway? Everything will be operated by robots and countless humans will lose their job. In the end humans will just stay at home, lie down and facebook all day long. Perhaps the world in the “Surrogate” movie will even become reality. But what kind of life will we get to live then, YOLO … So it’s better to experience things ourselves.

  • Lau Chun Fai says:

No. Because we shouldn’t. Humanoid is not creation of god. Human shall not act as god to create machine that may cause human extinction one day. Humanoid should not be part of the eco system else it case imbalance to mother nature and food of chain.

  • zalyazid says:

If you had the power to decide, would you allow humanoid robots to live in our world? Why or why not? no. machines can always go wrong when a virus attacks. if humans can turn to zombies and be vicious. imagine what a machine can afford to do.

  • Of course I will. Even Luke Skywalker who had Jedi power need C3PO and R2d2 to do some errant, why not normal powerless CUTE people like me? hehe

Ok. seriously, since there is no superhero, Humanoid is needed, with their super strength, can help us human to improve the world to be better and safer place. With them Humanoid, they can do many things human cannot do such as flush the toilet..ehh no! they serve for better purpose like put off forest fire immediately, flying corner of the world to save animal from being hunt and others.

If you had the power to decide, would you allow humanoid robots to live in our world? Why or why not?

Yes because it can be treated like a pet. Someone to take care or look after and feel the way you feel. I think no harm for humanoid robots to be existed in the earth. It’s how we human going to managed them.

  • Rachel Yee says:

Yes, I would allow humanoid robots to live in our world, because they are very useful to carry out work that’s too dangerous or too labour-intensive for humans. However, we must install a special switch that will cause them to self-destruct should they ever reach a certain level of intelligence! Sorry, Chappie!

  • YU HUI WEN says:

Yes, of course. We need them to help humans to do those dangerous things in the world so that humans do not need to risk up their lives on these anymore.

  • Yes, because we can let the robot to do the misting job which is very very dangerous to human.

  • Aytch Lim says:

Yes of course. They would be able to help us do various things that would be hard or dangerous for us to do. Their existence would definitely help save lives.

  • Nazly says:

Definitely yes because they can be programmed into system to do any tasks that human can’t do like protect our country from any mass destruction!!

  • Living with humanoid robot?? I had always dreams of that though, started when i first watched i-robot. It will be so much fun!! But, afraid also if they can harm us too like in the movie! The best thing is u can have friend like Baymax or somekind of robots who care for u and being friends. If they are here living with us as a friends, yes i will accept them with a big hug. :-) But to let them overtaking human works, its not suppose to be, human brains and powers are much better though, even those robots are man made rite?? But, still i love robots! :-)

  • NUR FARHANA says:

Yes, because as people can get several help from them, and of course they should be build in order to help, to do hard thing, to protect human being and many other thing that human might have difficult time to do. While I still say No to certain way, because most people should already know that having robot in this world can lead to several chaos or can lead to several human being tradition so allowing robot live in our world can be Yes and No. It depends on how it being develop and what are the purpose of developing the robot.

  • suran says:

No, because they will take the human interaction, the personal touch, and love between human which is what make human, human.

  • suran says:

Yes, because they can allow human to focus to important things in life such as family, love, friends, laughter and sleep 😛

  • Ng Chee How says:

If you had the power to decide, would you allow humanoid robots to live in our world? Why or why not?

Yes. everything got good and bad side. some robot is helping making human life easier, no one wish to live back the stone age. we create robot is help us to perform which reach human limitation. just some people misuse of this.

  • Kenny Kong says:

I will as this will show everyone the precious and valuable life we have about the persistence of love and essence of what make it means to be human with comparison to humanoid robots who is being program to follow what their program orders.

  • Sasithorn says:

Nope, I will not let that happen. What if they suddenly go crazy? Things should come out from biology or biologically, not man made in this case. Imagine someday when they do not wanted to be under our command any more and they attack us for their independence! @@

  • Mike Chan says:

I will not, because human’s feeling is becoming more and more robotic nowadays. And if there is one day that human depends totally on humanoid robots, I couldn’t imagine how will people treat each others. Maybe in terms of production or efficacy wise it is good. However, emotionally, is a no no.

  • Rachel Yee says:

Yes, I would allow humanoid robots in our world, because we can program them to save lives during disasters and emergencies. So the next time Malaysian states are hit by floods, we can send the robots to rescue victims, give medical assistance and bring supplies to remote areas! To manage any risk of rebellion against humans, we should design their personalities to be compliant and subservient to humans!

  • Definitely I will allow humanoid robots to live in our world because who doesn’t want to live with adorable and kind robots like Wall-E, Baymax? I believe our world will be more lovely and peace with these kind of robots :3

  • Lim Zong Yen says:

Yes, if I had the power to decide I will let them live in our world. That’s the nature of human, we are able to adapt and live well with others if we choose to. Humanity born in us always lead us beyond where we can reach. Letting humanoid robots live with us will improve our lifestyle and quality. Well, why not? It will be a better world~

  • LEE YEW HUI says:

If I had the power to decide, i will not allowed humanoid robots in earth. Non-organic beings should not live equally with human beings as they will overpower human one day. Moreover, we should not waste resources (steel+electronics, etc.) to build them and create pollution to earth. Instead, we should use all these resources to explore the world beyond earth, the universe!

  • LEE YEW HUI says:

If I had the power to decide, i will not allowed humanoid robots in earth because science fiction movies had always shown the destructive side where robots will led us to. Believe or not, it will happen as what Einstein predicted.

  • Mike Chan says:

Robots are designed to complete task assigned by human. The good thing about robots is they do not have emotions. Hence, robots are pretty much within human control and they will anyhow complete the task assigned. However, when a robot has emotions, they are pretty much like human. Things get even trickier when a real human starts developing feelings for a robot and vice versa. Thus, I would not allow humanoid robots to be on earth and co-exist with us.

  • Tamilarasu says:

I would allow humanoid robots to live in our world because robots can be our surrogates! To make our lives easier, faster and effective, what better way than to do it the robotic way! In the speed tech is moving forward it is very likely and very possible for robots to be at least one per home. To help with our household, to save lives in medicine field and in wars too! With the brain of a computer, betrayal, laziness, forgetful and revenge, all these human weaknesses would be out of the question and as a result, life would be much easier. SO yeah, robots can be man’s best friend one day!

  • zwevyn says:

If I have the power to decide, I’ll allow humanoid robots to live in our world. Because humanoid robots are designed and programmed to manage any risk of task that can’t perform by human in a dangerous environment for experimental purposes.

After all, humanoid robots have the basic ability to perform the dangerous task without jeopardize human as it have the AI algorithms to determine the priority of human safety at 1st.

Human’s life is limited and can’t hold the valued knowledge to next generation forever. However, as long as the memory chip of humanoid robots is secured, humanoid robots can perform this main task.

  • Teoh Yee Fong says:

No, human can never accept anything smarter than them.
